The course introduces the history of cinema, from its inception to the screen culture of different countries of the late XXth century. Students will analyze the main milestones in the development of foreign and Russian cinema, learn the key names and films of different periods, as well as understand the social and historical reasons that led to the emergence of a particular direction in cinema.
